This great exhibition is a tour of the last years in Paris, the centre of the avant-garde, a city emptied of artists after the German occupation but, from 1944 (when the town is freed) until May 1968 of this town enjoying a creative period with so many artists and scholars travelling to Paris attracted by some cultural effervescence and a sort of freedom.  Nevertheless, there is also a sense of disenchantment as these were also the years of the Cold War, a period when thousands of immigrants and political refugees got to Paris. We attended some painting lessons in a school of art, we met there and quite soon we get along. This is a hazard of hearts as we never choose our classmates (it usually depends on the timetable). I am quite sure the foundations of our friendship are our very different painting styles. As I am so really fond of butterflies I have treasured a bunch of items related to these: books, stamps, craft; in any case, I am not really a collector. I also own a range of old cards (more particularly two small albums published in Great Britain by Crosse & Blackwell and Brooke Bond Tea). In the last one, the illustrations achieved by Richard Ward are wonderful top quality items. I also own some samples of punched cards printed into iridescent paper (these were gifts of a Spanish pastries company).
